Awana

Awana is an acronym derived from II Tim 2:15. “Study to show thyself and approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Awana Clubs are midweek clubs, organized by age. Some are gender specific, some are coed. Each club is geared to specific things that interest that age clubber. Club night is split into 3 segments. All clubs have the following emphasis even though it may be presented slightly differently:
~Fun games. This is the major draw to the clubbers friends, and the reason why most visitors return. Games are as physical as the clubbers age allows. They are meant to be challenging, and teach a spirit of cooperation.
~Handbook time. This is when the clubbers recite their memory verses to their leader. Each leader has the same group every week.
~Council time/Story time. A bible lesson is presented each week. As appropriate a salvation message is given.
