Our Faith Quest Children’s Ministries programs are child-friendly, God-centered, age-appropriate, creative and fun!!! Our programs are administered by loving, dedicated Christian men and women with a desire to reach and teach children to love and follow Jesus Christ.
Nursery Care
At Faith Church of the Valley, we value nursery care as a ministry, not just baby-sitting. We provide a safe and nurturing environment that will reflect God’s love for infants and toddlers. Our weekly care includes songs, stories and fingerplays the toddlers can participate in to learn about God. This is provided during both worship services year round.
Sunday School
Pre-Kindergarten (2-5 years old)
We provide an enriched learning environment with Bible lessons, music, play time, crafts, and other age-appropriate activities. This is provided during both worship services year round.
Elementary (Kindergarten—6th Grade)
In our Sunday school programs, children are encouraged to learn, understand and apply God’s Word to their lives. Biblical principles are presented through group discussion, music, art, drama, games, prayer, Bible Study and other various activities. This is provided during only the 10:45am worship service. We encourage families to come and worship together during the 9:00am service and attend Sunday school (both children and adults) during the 10:45am service.
Holy Order of the Lion is a Sunday school program where boys and girls are challenged to live like the warrior princes and princesses that God has called them to be. Children participate in small group prayer and discussion in their age groups and gender groups. They also have large group worship and teaching. They complete Bible studies (using Bible Quest) to earn awards and armor. Each piece of armor is a prize that will remind them of the challenge they get each week to put on the armor of God and persevere in life as children of the King. The goal of Holy Order of the Lion is discipleship: teachers living their walk with God so the kids can see what it looks like… teachers discipling kids in their own personal walks with Christ, encouraging and challenging them to make it their own.
Fire 56 (for 5th and 6th graders only) is a group designed especially for the way that 5th & 6th grade students think, the challenges that they face, and the things they will need as they enter adolescence. Fire 56 is currently participating as part of Holy Order of the Lion. However, they will still hold special events throughout the year just for 5th & 6th graders.
Bible Quest
Bible Quest is a weekly study, written by members of the church, designed for children Kindergarten-6th grades and their families to complete together. It is based on a passage and habit of a Christ-like disciple that will be discussed in small groups throughout the week, and preached from the pulpit and used as curriculum for Holy Order of the Lion the following Sunday. Check out http://kids.fcov.org/biblequest/ to download each week, or pick it up at church. This is available during the school year.
KidsConnect
The KidsConnect activity is available in the worship services for people of any age to use. It is specifically designed to help parents encourage their kids to engage in what is happening and being taught in the worship service. There are activities to do while sitting in the service as well as activities to help families follow up at home. Please pick up a KidsConnect and some crayons from an usher in either service.
Security
The security of our children is a priority at Faith Church of the Valley. We work hard to maintain a safe and secure environment for all children. Therefore, children will only be released to authorized, adult family members. Safety policies are enforced, and guidelines are in place to assure quality teachers for all classes.
Serving
We believe that serving in Children’s Ministries will be something that not only makes an impact for the kingdom of God present and future, but will teach you about our Father and the body of Christ.
