Liz Griggs
Hometown: Scottsdale, AZ
Spouse: Brian
Offspring: Two beautiful daughters
Loyalties (sports team): What? ! Oh… um… my little brother plays football for Chandler High, so, GO WOLVES!
Education: I attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff for 4 years. I earned my degree in music education and got incredible ministry and life experience while serving in the chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship while a student up there.
On my nightstand: Dust… lots of dust. And my glasses, alarm clock, Bible, journal and whatever new young adult novel I’m previewing for my husbands students.
Influences: My mom, my aunt and my grandma are the most amazing, godly women I know. They live life to please only God. They love Him and the Body of Christ more than anything. They trust God with everything they have and even with what they don’t have. They are prayerful in all things. They accept the gifts God has given them and use those gifts to serve Christ and His Body with unrelenting passion. I have spent my life, and will continue to spend it, looking up to them as examples of living for Christ alone.
On my DVR: Super Why!, Word World, The Office, Chuck, and So You Think You Can Dance?
Favorite Ice Cream: The kind that has ice cream in it. I’m not joking, but usually I’ll pick something with chocolate.
Favorite Restaurant: Chili’s, Mimi’s Cafe, Rubio’s, Del Taco. (My stipulation of a “nice” restaurant is some place where they bring me my Diet Coke refills!)
Favorite Book (other than the Bible): Jane Eyre, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia
Favorite Sports: If I’m forced, I enjoy watching volleyball and basketball. ☺
Favorite Band/Music Genre: Wow! This is pretty much an impossible question for me to answer. The following artists/genres are on my ipod: Hillsong, TobyMac, Jars of Clay, Third Day, Worship Jamz, God Rocks, Caedmon’s Call, ‘N Sync, Broadway Musicals, Oldies, 80s music, Classical Symphonic/Choral/Vocal selections, Petra, The O.C. Supertones, dc Talk, Relient K… (that’s just a sampling)
What I always wanted to be when I grow up: A mom. Seriously, I dressed up as “Super Mom” when I was 9 years old for a Whatcha Wanna Be When You Grow Up? Party.
Don’t ask me to…: clean your toilets! I seriously hate doing that. I have a wonderful husband who cleans ours, and I haven’t cleaned one since we’ve been married. I am truly blessed
