Heart of Faith Women’s Ministry is an expression of the Hearts of Faith in our church body. We purpose to help women know Jesus through the truth of His Word, experience Him in the fellowship of His love, and live like Him by the power of His Spirit. Through Bible studies, retreats and conferences, and special events designed to encourage fellowship and relationship building, women are encouraged and equipped to grow in and live out the love of Jesus. We recognize the diverse gifting of every woman and invite all ages to serve and grow with us in ministering to one another in the body of Christ. Come join our heartbeat!

Jesus was a traveler too. Let’s look together at Jesus’ detailed purpose of His travels and learn to model His process and results in our spiritual itinerary.

About the speaker: Simone Lake

Simone Lake is a pastor’s wife and full-time minister, serving in various areas. Her primary areas include Bible teacher and conference speaker (both in the U.S. and internationally). She is the founder of Deep Roots in Christ Ministries. In addition, she writes devotional articles in several publications, she is a short term missionary, author, prayer leader, Bible mentor and chaplain. She holds a master’s degree in Theological Studies (MTS) and attends Church on Randall Place where she serves in various capacities. Simone teaches prayer and spiritual discipline courses at The Center of Women with Vision, a center designated for the growth of women located at Phoenix Seminary. Simone and her husband Pastor John Lake, enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking the Grand Canyon, mountain bike riding and walking their Border collie, Scout. Morning and Evening Bible Studies

Heart of Faith offers a wide variety of Bible studies to accommodate the diverse needs of the women at Faith Church. Several different types of studies meet on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings. Most of these offer childcare. Studies usually break for the summer.

Spiritual Gifts

Candee Spears continues to lead a Precepts study Spiritual Gifts through April. This study looks at 1 Peter 4:10 and how we are to employ our gifts to serve one another and be good stewards. For more information contact Candee at 480-963-4066.

Job

Join Shirley Skoglund and Kitty Upchurch as they do a “Joy of Living” study on Job. As we are surrounded by worldly philosophies and ideas, reality and truth become deluded. Job will strip away those things that delude us and show us the true and living God. The book costs $18.70. This study will meet from 9:30-11:30 in room 206. Thursday Evening:

Spiritual Gifts

Have you ever wondered what your gifts are and how to serve God? Starting January 12 and ending in May, Carol Behrens will lead a Precepts study Spiritual Gifts. This study looks at 1 Peter 4:10 and help us to understand our gifts and find our place of service within the body of Christ. Each week covers half a lesson. This study meets in room 108. Moms Connect

A place designed especially for moms with children ranging from newborn to pre-teen meets on

Check out our Library for women! It is located in the hallway on the 2nd floor of the church by room 201(the Starbound room). There are biographies, Bibles, devotionals, fiction, health, marriage, parenting, and spiritual life books– many specific to the interest, needs and tastes of women. These books are available to be loaned out to you to enjoy! Email any questions to women@fcov.org or call Ann at 480-854-4438.

-We ask that you return the book, to the return basket, after 30 days.

Book / Audio / DVD Donations

If you desire to donate books, audios, DVDs (or VHS) to the women’s library, please choose books that are to a woman’s interest and then drop the books off in the office with a note stating that the books are for HOF women’s ministry library. Thank you for your donations.

Childcare

Childcare for women’s events is always needed. If you would like to be on the list as a volunteer or paid caregiver, please call Carol at 480-839-8136 or email women@fcov.org

Fundraisers

Our ministry is looking for those interested in helping HOF with ideas for fundraisers. These fundraisers help supplement HOF’s budget. We would like these additional monies to go toward quality programs, current Bible studies, scholarships for events, and paid childcare. Email us at women@fcov.org if you are interested in helping in this area.

Want to be on a team, yet don’t know where you might fit in?

Take our “Purse-n-ality” test located on the HOF cart in the lobby. After you take the test you can fill out the card, put it in the box and we will contact you in a couple of weeks. Plus check out some of the ideas below…

Mug-n-Muffin would like some new ladies added to their team to help with ideas as well as setting up and tearing down at our events.

The Service Team is comprised of ladies who do not have time to be in a group that has continual demands. This team of ladies will have their names listed and available to the HOF team to call upon when they need help. This help might be helping at an event, cutting out materials, tearing down, serving food…the list goes on and on. When called, you choose and decide if you can or would like to do the task being asked.
